Hi, I have a beomaster 5000 with a blown fuse, I replaced the battery, all the capacitors on the power amplifier board and the preamplifier board. Now when I turn it on the two relays trip but the red light doesn’t work, if I press the button it turns on then you see the word loudness which fades away. Can anyone help me? what could i check?

Hi everyone, I’ve partially solved it, there’s only one problem left.
When I plug it in it doesn’t turn on but when I press a button on the control faceplate it turns on and then it works.
When I unplug it and put it back the problem reappears….????
Please does anyone know the problem? And do you know what I could check to fix the problem?
    Thank you.

Have you double checked the connections to the processor board (one by one) at the front of the unit. If it is actually turning on (which is a good sign, didn’t fry the CPU ) it may be a connection issue seeing as the cables and corresponding plugs are pushing 40 years old. Additionally, you may want to look at the internal IR sensor. They can cause a host of unusual problems when they start to go bad.

I have another one that works and I tried to replace the processor board but the problem remained, then I also changed the display capacitors but the problem remained.
The relay works but maybe I should replace it anyway just to be safe?
