Hi, looking at floorstanders to replace my C75s and so considering the Beolab 6000.

My question is if I connect using the pre-amp output can I control the volume using the Beomaster?

Hi! Cool to hear this works for you. Can you talk me through the cable setup you used to connect the Be centre 5000 to the Beolab 6000 speakers.becsuse whatever I do I get crazy loud humming especially when the Beocentre is on standby.

          Thank you!

            Apologies for slow reply…

I did get this with the first set of (cheap) rca to rca cables I used, which I then changed for shielded ones (I subsequently got free from the people I bought the speakers from) which did improve matters. Since then I’ve changed amp to an Audiolab 8300CDQ and in just one speaker I do get a very slight hum when the amp goes into standby but not straight away though. Not sure if I need better shielded cables or if it’s the speaker.
