BRONZE MemberI’m the fortunate second owner of a Beomaster 4400, bought here in Jutland, Denmark.
It was restored by a retired gentleman who previously worked at B&O in Struer. During the restoration he also soldered in a Bluetooth receiver internally on the Tape 2 input. It has been playing flawlessly for the past five years, paired with a set of Rogers LS3/5A in our small living room.
The TV is connected to Tape 1 via an Opti-Link converter (digital to RCA), which also works without issues.
About a week ago I decided to start using the FM radio for the first time. I connected a standard copper antenna, a 2 × 80 cm dipole bought off the shelf. It worked fine for two days. Now it doesn’t. There is a chattering noise, but no stations are found when tuning.
I did experiment a bit with the AFC/ST switch around that time.
Is there a known cause for this behaviour on the Beomaster 4400, or a typical fault path I should start checking?
Wishing you a happy St. Lucia.
