Hello,
I’ve been chasing a couple of issues after recapping a Beomaster 1900. This is my first attempt at this kind of of project and I’m happy to be learning so much.
The issues were resolved (a bad solder joint on the balance board and two reversed caps on the volume board) but a new one arose while I was looking for them. Unfortunately it appears that one of my multimeters does not have proper isolation and while measuring the voltage at TR210 in the power amp, I heard a loud pop through the speakers and the unit went into standby. It still turns on and functions, but now only for a short period of time, typically 60s to begin with but then shorter periods of time, going into standby almost immediately if I turn it right back on again. If I leave it for a while, the time period resets.
For the test points on the left and right channels, just before shutoff I have roughly: 2TP202 -6mV;ย 2TP203 -17mV; 2TP302 -43mV; 2TP303 -63mV. Some of these appear to start off quite high e.g. +100mV.
Any advice on what could be causing this would be gratefully received!
