My Beomaster 1000 – Type 2301 has a bit of buzzy transformer, a physical buzz that transmits through the case to whatever its sitting on (NOT a speaker hum). This seems likely to be degradation of the transformer. I’ve tightened the transformer clamp bolts as tight as they will go and it reduced the transferred noise level a fair bit but its clearly still there. Options for replacement:
(1) find donor “white key” Beomaster 1000 with same transformer that is hopefully good. This will have the 30v nominal output as per schematic (existing transformer measured at 29.5v)
(2) use a “good” transformer I pulled from a beyond repair Beomaster 1000 – Type 2317 (black key) that outputs 33v nominal output. Will this be within range that can be adjusted back to 30v by the voltage regulator circuit in my type 2301 or would I need to make some modifications ? Schematic for type 2317 below too. I measured the transformer before removing it from the Type 2317 and was giving 31.5v
(3) use a modern toroidal transformer. Would be a tight fit and require probably changing the 2 tuning panel lights to LED as well as no 30v plus 6.3v are available. The back panel says “30w-140w” which seems a bit high for a 20w output per channel, I was thinking more an 80w or 100W toroidal as I measured the draw at socket (max volume from radio through a pair of Beovox 1200) and it never went about 55W.
Any tips or opinions if you have a done either (2) or (3) OR have a spare good white key model transformer going spare/for sale !

The receiver coped with that even though that means it must have been pumping out approx. 2v above the 29.5v it is now. I swapped the connection points for 240v and spun the little disc in the window on back panel to match. This does make me think that the “black key” transformer might be useable though might be best to turn down the regulator first a bit before fine tuning it.
