BRONZE MemberHi folks,
I have a Beosystem 3500 which I control with a Beolink 1000. Everything was fine until a couple of months ago when the Beolink stopped working. I thought it was just the batteries, so changed them. This never resolved the issue. I then turned off the Beosystem at the mains and turned it back on which worked and everything was fine again for a week or so. Then it happened again. And again. And again……….
Just wondering if anyone can comment on what the possible issue is? I don’t think the capacitors on the boards have ever been changed, so worried it might be that. It’s getting on for 35 years old after all. I’m relatively handy with a soldering iron, but it will be a lot of work to recap the entire system.
Many thanks.
Steven

ModeratorHello,
Looking at the circuit diagram, there are not many electrolytic caps on the receiver.
There are a few for the blasters.
It could possibly be a low 5V rail, but I would put my money on a transistor breaking down over time on the IR PCB.
To see what is actually occurring, I would need to measure the IR in the circuit.
It’s difficult to say as we have not received a BeoMaster 3500 with this fault before.Kind regards,

Sometimes I find the very same with my 3500 system. My Dad too with his. Happens every now and again.
Quick tap of AV on the Beolink 1000 and all works as normal.Julian

BRONZE MemberPeter – That’s reassuring on the electrolytic cap front!
Pepps – I wasn’t aware of the AV button option, but will certainly give it a try next time it plays up!
Both – Thanks a lot for your posts!
Cheers,
Steven
