Hi everyone,
Do you know if it is possible for a pair of beolab 18 connected to a beovision with WISA, to be also connected with a powerlink cable to a beocenter 2, or a turntable or any other device?
If yes, how is the experience?
thanks all
12 November 2024 at 11:05 #60827Connecting multiple sources to Beolab 18 at the same time is possible, but only when they are all wired. They are prioritised in this order:
- Power Link
- Optical input (Toslink)
- Line input (RCA)
It’s not possible to use wireless and wired sources at the same time.

As far as I remember, this is only the case if you use then as a ‘standale’ pair – not if they are PL-connected to a Beovision.

13 November 2024 at 13:31 #60862There is no way to use Beolab 18 as a “standalone” pair, it always needs to be connected to a source, wireless or wired. In wired use, the aforementioned prioritisation applies.
Maybe you’re thinking of Beolab 28 instead, which do have sources built in and behave differently otherwise too?
13 November 2024 at 14:51 #60866Hi,
thanks a lot for your answers
I have a beovision 11, and I was thinking of buying a pair of beolab 18.
my initial plan was to connect them with Wisa to the beovision, and also connect them to a beoconnect via powerlink, so that I can also listen to radio or spotify…
But as you said, maybe beolab 28 would be a better fit for such use case.
thanks again

=============
Certainly I do not ‘mistake’ the 18’s for the 28’s!
But my explanation maybe – for you – was a bit unclear…..sorry for that.
The BL18’s are a pair of speakers!
Also see my post in this thread
….which also contains a link to a posting on Geoff Martins website about the 18’s.
