Hello dear beoworlders, I’d like to hear about your speakers position in your listening room. Please no answers like : it is shown in the many illustrations in the technical sound guide…

So do you keep your speakers 1 m away from any wall to avoid room boundaries? In a lot of acoustic publications we can find explanations for speakers as close as possible against the front wall (wall behind speakers) to avoid SBIR in the low frequencies cause no room compensation will fight low frequency cancellation…

How do you deal with your room acoustics ?

        Hello,

In my case, speakers are 15 cm from the rear wall and 60 cm from corners.

        Regards,

        Yann.

Similar setup here – my front left and right 50s are about 20-25cm away from the wall / corner.

Basically as close as possible without jamming them literally against the wall, which aesthetically would look a bit odd to me.

I dont perceive any negatives sound wise of having them close to the wall.

Thank you YannChris and Sandyb !

It works better for me when I put the BL 50 near the wall and corner than 1 m away from any wall. I guess every room is different and result in different speakers positions… but I find the sound very weak away from walls…

Any other BL50 or 90 owner kind enough to share its setup ?

Surely the whole point of the Beolab 90s (and, I assume, 50s) is that you don’t need to worry about where you put them!

My 90s are plonked in the corners of my lounge, where they look nice, but where my old passive speakers would cause a noticeable room boom. I have run the EQ from my listening seat and they sound sublime.

My thoughts too, in that placement shouldn’t matter too much.

Mine (50s) happen to be in the corners just because thats where they make most sense, practically and aesthetically.

Surprised they would sound weak away from walls.
