Beolab 5 – how can I get the best sound out of them?

Hi,

How can I get the best sound out of my Beolab 5?

In my current setup, my Beolab 5s are connected to an Essence Mk2, but I would like to upgrade. I see two options:

1. Buy a Beoconnect Core and connect via Powerlink (as I understand that the Beoconnect Core does not have a digital output I can use with my Beolab 5s).

2. Buy, for example, a Bluesound Node (N530) and connect via coax to get a digital signal into my Beolab 5s, thereby using the internal DAC in the speakers.

Which option is best? And does anyone have experience with these two setups?

I would also appreciate any general comments or suggestions on how to achieve the best possible sound.

I don’t know about the cables but people say the new Core sounds MUCH better than the Essence.  Personally I say hook them up to a theatre 😉
