Hi all,
I have a Beogram RX2 (MMC4) plugged in to a Beomaster 5000 (and also a Beogram CD 7000). I am not happy at all with the sound when listening to records.
It sound too low (not extremely low, but just not loud enough) and it is only partially helped by turning on loudness.
It is not at speaker issue, since CDs and the radio tuner sound just perfect.
I have readjusted the counterweight according to the RX2 manual (1,2 gram)
The turntable is grounded through the Beomaster.
It is NOT plugged in through the DIN connector as the cable in the RX2 is equipped with twoway phono connection. Could this be the issue? I don’t know if there’s any difference in using one or the other when both input options are there on the Beomaster.
Is there any way to figure out if the issue is a cartridge malfunction?
Any help in troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated!

RX2 likely does not have an integrated RIAA preamp.
So it should be plugged in the “Phono” entry of the Beomaster.
It’s certainly the case but you never know 🙂
Just my 2 cents.
Yann.
