Hi all! I have a Beogram 8000 Type 5613 where the platter spins way too fast. I’ve been able to narrow it down to the HEF4013BP Flip Flop IC. I know very little about logic chips, and what I do know I learned yesterday, but I can see the speed sensor pulses going in and nothing coming out. VDD is stable around +5V. Are modern replacements like a Toshiba TC4013BP pretty much the same or are there specific values that I need to look at when choosing a replacement?

the Toshiba TC4013BP will work fine to replace the HEF4013BP.

15 July 2024 at 16:55 #57425I would like to give a very belated THANK YOU, RaMaBo! The Toshiba chip works! Also, I was an idiot and forgot to reconnect the ground wire when I replaced the smoothing capacitor, which prevented the original chip from working. It had supply voltage, but the lack of output made me think the chip was bad. Luckily the replacement chip was only a couple of bucks and made me realize that something else was at fault. After reviewing a few pictures, I noticed my blunder. Now the turntable is working great!!
