SILVER MemberHi All,
the carriage movement of my BG6500 is impaired:
it will travel ok up to almost reaching the run-out groove of a record – I understand that can vary – but it won’t get to its end without hitting a resistance ?
I can push the the carriage right to the end but still feel that mechanical resistance only I can absolutely not
see any obstacle that would cause that issue.
I took off the string-loaded pulley but nothing fishy to see ??? If I take out the clip that keeps the string-pulley
down I noticed when that resistance can be felt that pulley moves slightly up, something I believe is not the
normal way ?! There is no way that no matter how new the servo belt may be that it could overcome that resistance.
perhaps one of you guys can think of a reason or even better give me a pointer…..pleeeease
that would be great – thanks

If that is the case then you can manually check its movement by first unplugging it and the push the cam’s toothed bar toward the front and rotate the swing ring counter clockwise to rotate the cam and check its movement.

SILVER MemberThank you Mark for confirming that 👍
I revisited the SM yesterday and had that very suspicion I may had done it the wrong way.
this and a worn servo belt proved to be the issues. There is still the odd scraping which seems almost
a standard issue with those tables but otherwise it works again 🙏🏼
best regards
