Hi. I’ve just bought a 5500. Start up and playing the first track was demonstrated to me by the seller and it all seemed to be working fine. Without checking it again when I got it home I bought new belts for the servo and platter and have replaced these. 1. However, when I now press play the light flicks on and off, a relay clicks, the turntable stutters but doesn’t start. 2. Although I don’t appear to be able to reproduce it, I turned the platter manually, the arm moved across to the start of the LP, the platter rotated and I was able to drop the arm onto the start of the LP and it played ok until the next issue. 3. Having played most of the album the arm would move no further across the LP and started to jump. Maybe it’s something I have done or not done when replacing the belts?
Any help much appreciated. Thanks.
