Hi,
My trusty Beogram 5500 record deck died mid album. First I got an odd burning smell, then shortly after I heard the record slooooow down to a halt and the player just died!
It does not respond to any buttons, and the arm is stuck mid way on the plattter.
Any idea of what this could be?
Thanks in advance.

Can you tell if something burned inside? – And what?
Wrong mains voltage setting?Martin

I haven’t opened up the deck yet, so not sure what burned/melted inside, but there was an odd burning smell just before it stopped.
The belt was replaced about 8 years ago and it’s been working for years with no issues, except for a sort of metal on metal rubbing noise on the last few rotations of an LP.
