Hi, I have a Beogram 5500 which I’ve connected to my B&O Stage through the line in. I get an awful buzzing when anything is playing.
setup is Beogram 5pin to rca line in on a pre amp
line out rca to 3.5mm jack which goes to the stage.
any suggestions as it’s driving me crazy.
thanks in advance
Steven

this is what I’ve got going into the amp from the Beogram cable:
5 Pin DIN Female to 2 RCA Male… https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0BVN17132?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
this is the amp:
Pro-Ject Phono Box (DC), MM/MC… https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B007DB5I60?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
any help / advice would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Steven
12 March 2024 at 11:35 #53350I think you need a cable with a proper earthing from the turntable. The connector you’ve bought won’t have this.
You can get one at Sounds Heavenly. Or, Beocable on eBay do one.
I’d be interested how you get on as I’m intending to connect my Beogram 3300 to an amp using the Pro-ject phono box with the Beocable connector. I’m just waiting to buy an MMC4 cartridge.
12 March 2024 at 20:06 #53351If you have the original phono DIN cable marked with a PH then B&O used to have DIN->RCA adaptor that had an external ground wire which is needed. If you can find that then a special internally grounded one such as https://soundsheavenly.com/beogram-record-players/14-2244-beogram-to-non-bo-device-as-used-on-beogram-4000c-phono-pre-amp-receiver-amplifier-etc-bo-ref-6271348.html#/2-length-1m/60-grounding-internal_ground_link will work.
14 May 2024 at 14:31 #55607I have the same problem with my Beogram 5500. A specialist in Berlin told me, that I should solder a wire between the PIN in the middle (=ground) and the plug housing. I have not done this so far. But it seems, this is the only solution to get this fixed from the source.
But I am just wondering, why this is necessary, as this is a mass product.
