This is the fine speed adjustment mechanism of my 1800 and it doesn’t seem to be working. I am guessing that the black plastic piece should be moving with the turning of the shaft, and then acting on the ‘lifting arm’ (part 211 on the 1202) up and down. The turning shaft moves without engaging the black plastic or lifting the arm. If anyone could confirm this I would be grateful, and if anyone has or can suggest where I might get a relevant spare part this would also be great.
    Thanks

The knob should adjust the puck in on the copper spring metal shown off the right edge of your picture. If this is not happening, then your only recourse will be an attempt at a repair, as you’ll not find a replacement except from a parts unit, given that it’s almost 60 years old.
