    HI

If anyone can help explain how this mechanism should work on the fine speed adjustment knob

, I would be grateful. I recently acquired this machine and thought it need a service and a new belt it works well, but the fine speed adjustment doesn’t seem to move the lever arm. The plastic part of this mechanism seems broken to me: there seems to be signs of degradation that maybe had some form of screw thread, perhaps? And the shaft spins freely rather that acting on the plastic part. The service manual is not that helpful and I couldn’t find any images or discussion in this or the archived forum, or youtube for that matter. The speed changer mechanism works fine and I understand that – the plastic part acts on the lever arm through a curved part of the moulding with the help of the horseshoe spring visible in the picture.

Obviously if it is broken I would be interested in getting a replacement part, if anyone has one, or can suggest who I can contact

Anyone have any thoughts? (I have detached the lever arm spring)

    Thanks
