I’ve successfully replaced the pinch roller, belts, and rubber rollers in my BeoCord 2000 with DKSoundParts’ excellent kits.  After reassembly I noticed this clear plastic disc or washer in my work area, and can’t figure out where it might have come from.  I’ve looked through the service manual and can’t find an obvious candidate either.

Always possible it’s not supposed to be there — this deck had been repaired once before in the 1990s and it might have dropped in there while on that workbench…

I’ve photographed it with a pen for scale… thanks for any ideas!

I’ve repaired maybe three of four Beocord 2000s, and I don’t recognise that washer.  That’s all I can offer though!

Thanks, that’s reassuring 🙂 In other washer-related notes, it’s interesting how there are both front and back black (cardboard?) washers for the two screws that secure the heat sink. The ones on the outside back of the machine are easy enough to get right, but I’m guessing the interior ones were constantly lost. (I found both of mine lurking in the bottom tray of the BeoCord…)

I was watching a video about the BeoCord 2000 and happened to catch where the transparent washer should go… I had tried this myself but found it to be a tight fit so I didn’t force it. Turns out (at least according to this video) the tension is on purpose to keep the capstan in place – and perhaps to prevent any lubricating oil from seeping upwards?
