BRONZE MemberHello,
I recently imported a Beocenter 1 from Denmark to the USA via Sea Freight. Yes, I am a bit crazy.
It’s been a bit of a learning curve with the settings on this TV and the Beo4 remote and understanding how UK televisions work. One thing I haven’t been able to get properly working is the motorized stand.
When I try to do it with the << and >> arrows on the Beo4
remote while in ‘STAND’ mode (shown on the small red LED on the front below the screen), it does not move at all. However, if I manually turn the TV with my hands and then go to the service menu, then the ‘Stand’ section, and press GO on the only option (‘CENTER POSITION’), it rotates perfectly all the way around for a few seconds and then stops when it’s.. “centered” I suppose.
Alternatively, when I go to the regular Menu and access the ‘STAND’ sub-menu, I have the options: TV ON and TV STANDBY with a little semi circle indicator showing where I want those to be. Using the << and >> arrows on either option does not result in any movement of the TV or any movement on the indicator on the semi-circle.
I’m just a bit puzzled why it appears the motor can turn itself to center perfectly when I use the ‘CENTER POSITION’ but it can’t manually turn when in STAND mode and it can’t turn when I’m doing the TV ON and TV STANDBY preset settings from the regular menu.
I’ve tightened the small allan screw very snug in the back where the stand meets the TV. When I first set the TV into the stand, I had to rotate it until it dropped another half inch into a groove of some sort which I believe was the correct way to do it.
Is it possible the motor is busted or is this a strange software glitch or something wrong with my Beo4 remote? I’ve noticed strange things with the Beo4 remote (like, none of the shortcuts at the top of the remote work except for TV.. so I can’t use it to go straight to Radio or CD/DVD or VTAPE for example.) The << and >> arrow keys do work in other contexts though so I know those buttons work.
Thanks for any help you can provide!
