I have a really bad feeling it will just be a colour variant of something they already have on the market OR beolab 5 refurbished and costing 75k

I don’t think it has to necessarily be a flagship product.

I also dont think releasing the same old products in a marginally different shade of Woke purple will cut it either.
A new Turntable. Easy enough for B&O to do with minimal R&D and production costs to get up and running. A signature product of theirs over the last 100years and one where the tech is likely not to get outdated in 5 minutes time.
Slightly more controversial would be…what if they re-released the BeoSound Century? Its got the name, the nostalgia for Tape and CD….possibly with a a re-jigged Balance internals. Worse things have happened at sea?
I think a re-release of the BL5 would also not be a bad thing – though I shudder as to the price they will ask. They will also need to ruggedize the chassis to stop the BL5 from killing itself 10years down the line (oh and get that soft-felt paint off the product as well)

I have a personal theory that is completely and utterly unsubstantiated by anyone, but here goes:

    – Beolab 90s are currently £141,000 in the UK
    – The next model down in the range are the Beolab 50s, which are £52,000
    That’s quite a big gap.
    Just saying…. 😉

We just dont know…but I guess we all have a lot of fun guessing?

Question is this…… If B&O sell 1 pair of BL90s a month lets say……and 3 pairs of BL50…….why do a bridge model in between?

    You can play 1 to 30 or 1 to 300 etc….but I imagine if B&O sell 30 BL50s a month…..they would be doing very well indeed.

Another possibility is that that the BL90 gets put to grass and placed on “special order” (which it practically is anyway I guess).

You can still buy it but that gives B&O the ability to charge what they like. Then B&O put a bridge product out above the 50 but sub GBP100k. I think it is more likely (in my own mind) that a BL9/20 – class product (less flashy/complicated than 28’s, more performance than 8s, w/integral sub) should be the bridge product?

I’m surprised nobody has mentioned the first « flagship » 100th year product : Beovision Theatre « Art deco atelier » with matching BL28…

Here is the updated list of products for the 100th B&O birthday :

    (limited to 55 ex.)
    (Limited to 100 ex.)
So there are currently 155 UHNWI customers that can celebrate the birthday year with a special product… Do you think there won’t be anything compatible with a “standard B&O budget” ? For the 90 years there was only the BL90 as new product, which is not for everybody, but the special edition rose gold products were nice (I bought a rose gold A9 which I still use daily). I hope there will be something a bit special added to the standard range, not just a color this time.

B&O remains an unprofitable company and management clearly thinks pricing along with limited editions is the way to dig themselves out of the hole unfortunately. And maybe they are right, that B&O customers are much more price inelastic than we’d want to believe…but that doesnt’ make me a happier customer regardless.
I’m sure there will be more 100 anni special editions on the way this year…whether I can justify the price vs “normal” Beolab / B&O pricing is another question…

It is time for a new BeoTime analog. It would be nice to use this theme from the art deco  platter of the BVT floorstand with an engraved 100 with the new logo. So every B&O Fan can buy this product and not only 150.
