Hi Beoworlders,

Did you know that there were echos of Beosound 9000 in an early 1960 Jacob Jensen music system? David Lewis worked alongside Jensen for many years and David’s story of designing iconic products is told by fellow designer Torsten Valeur in this interview…

Hi,

We don’t know much about that product other than David Lewis worked on it with other designers about the time that he was finishing in design school. The design was sponsored by General Electric, but it never made it into production. Rumour has it that Jacob Jensen was also involved, but I’m not sure in what capacity. This picture was what inspired Torsten Valeur to contact David and ask to work for him, so quite a significant design really!
