6 May 2025 at 09:21 #65448 MillemisGOLD MemberSorry to ask…
…..but, I saw my name – millemissen – on the list in the video.
Does that mean, that I am ‘one of the choosen ones’?
Does that mean I have to wait for an email to be sure?

FOUNDER MemberHas anyone from the UK sorted out their travel arrangements yet? If so, would you care to share your findings on the best way to travel, and why you rejected the alternatives?

25 June 2025 at 20:25 #66653 peppsGOLD MemberHello Mark,
I’m coming from Kent. I’ve decided to fly to Copenhagen and train to Struer. The main reason being the scenery from the train will be great and a wander about Copenhagen on the way home sounds perfect.
I looked at flying to Billund and renting a car to drive up to Struer but the flights aren’t plentiful and I’ve driven from Billund before and really struggle with not speeding on those gorgeous roads! 😄Location: Kent, UK

26 June 2025 at 16:32 #66680 MillemisGOLD MemberIf you plan to go by train from Copenhagen to Struer, you should know that:
You can get very low fares if you plan and buy tickets at the right moment – you can buy 2 months ahead.
The prices will vary depending on the time of the day.
If you are over 65 years old 😉 you pay less.
I would recommend buying a seat reservation. The duration can vary quite a lot – the quickest train rides are at 4 hour 15 minutes approx – with 1 change.
See this example:DSB (danish railroad service) has an english version of their homepage: https://www.dsb.dk/en/

16 July 2025 at 21:40 #67332 Rolf2GOLD MemberI have made my bookings and will arrive at Billund airport on Wednesday 8th at 14.00 h. Then I will drive with a rental car to Struer. If someone is taking the same way, we can share the car – and a nice ride, sharing knowledge and stories about B&O stuff, getting ready for the tour 😎🤣.
Kind regards,
Rolf

Yes there is, have been a couple of changes as members schedules change we definitely have a couple more places up for grabs.
Hopefully once we have received confirmation from all the members we emailed over the last couple of weeks, we will know how many more places there will be.Location: Leeds, West Yorkshire, UK

If you – and/or others – are driving (from Billund -> Struer, I can highly recommend a stop in Herning (which is on the road, that you are driving, just 50 km before you arrive in Struer).
In Herning you can find one of the best/most beautiful B&O shops in Denmark.
If you are in for a short stop to have a coffee or more, look out for the café in the public library – also located in the pedestrian area there.MM

Good evening all,
I have just bought my rail tickets. @Millemis your advice was perfect thank you!
@Rolf2 I like the idea of your road trip – keep some of your stories for dinner!
I’m deliberating over a large cabin bag for my Easyjet flight…it’s an extra £100 but I suppose I’ll want to buy some souvenirs.
[Edit: I just bought my flights after sleeping on it. I’ve chosen to swerve the larger cabin bag and shall travel light instead. You’ll all have to excuse my jeans and t-shirt attire throughout the week. By dodging the larger bag fee my overnight stay in Copenhagen becomes ‘free’ so to speak.]
I’ve looked into travelling from the airport to the train station – there is a bus every 15 minutes which costs less than £5 (or it’s a 90 minute walk depending on the weather).
My train departs at 12:45pm and is a direct service to Struer!
The flights home are limited so I’m going to leave Struer after breakfast and travel back to Kobenhavn H on the 11:04am. Then I was thinking about booking an overnight stay in Copenhagen because there’s an evening flight back to Gatwick on Sunday. So I’ll have Saturday night and Sunday in the city to explore.
The costs add up – but it’s a one-off trip so let’s flex that credit card!
Oh and I haven’t checked the cost of parking my car at Gatwick yet….hahahaha!Anyone else travelling from the UK?
Found any alternatives back to Blighty on Saturday?
