I’ve spent a hour or so with the Theatre at my dealers, albeit not listening with 100% critical concentration…and I didn’t notice any muffling issues myself.

I’d run the microphone calibration and then see if you notice anything.

Mike (the podcast host) has had his at home for a few days now, and he’s not notice any such issues.
