BeoLab 8000 – Converting 110V US Version to 220V EU (Transformer Question).

Hi guys,

I want to modify my 110V US BeoLab 8000 speakers to work with 220V EU voltage.

From the manual, I see that there are several versions of the power input PCB, and the difference between them seems to be the connection to the transformer (T1). From what I can tell, this connection appears to be the only difference.

It looks like I can modify the wiring from the 110V configuration to the 220V configuration.

My question is whether the transformer (T1) is identical in both versions, or if I would need to replace it with a 220V version as well.

Hello,and sorry for the late response to your question.

The main transformer can be adapted to different voltages,but the standby transformer is specific to each market.

I needed to convert a Beolab 8000 from USA spec to UK spec,and I needed to replace the standby transformer with one from B&O.

These were made by B&O,so not generally available elsewhere.

They may still be available with part No 8013007 (240 v UK spec)
