SILVER MemberHello,
I got a pair of Beovox 1800s without knowing if they work. When I first checked them on a properly functioning Beomaster 1200, they sounded terrible. No bass and distortion in the mid frequencies. So I removed the speakers from the chassis and checked them with a multimeter:
1. Both tweeters have continuity and both have a measured resistance of 6.6 ohms. Does that make sense? Do the original tweeters perhaps have 8 ohms? If so I assume they are okay – or do I have to check anything else?
2. The woofers originally have a resistance of 4 ohms. One woofer seems to be completely defective—no continuity and a resistance of 108 ohms. The other has continuity and a resistance of 3.6 ohms.
Is there any speaker recommendation for a replacement of the woofer?
Many thanks,
Jens
