Bro Century cd issue, not resolved with a new laser.

I have a 1998 Beo Century that’s driving me half crazy.

Hi, I’ve had it for years after buying it in an auction, and everything works apart from the cd, the lid opens, but the cd doesn’t spin or open the lid to show it’s not reading it, it just gives the little inverted something wrong symbol.

I checked on this forum and the best remedy seemed to replace the laser, so I did, but it was still the same  and the same response, so I ran cd test mode and it came back with 30, which is a communication error I believe. It seems to be down to something on the PC3 board/microcomputer 3 module, so I just bought the whole module and the only one available on the planet via KOSE in Denmark. I fitted it today and it’s still the same, not reading the cd and the test mode still gives 30, I’m not quite frustrated enough to throw it out the window, but it’s close, I have no more ideas now, can anyone please give me any?
