BRONZE MemberUnfortunately, my Overture 2631, which had been sitting idle for years, now had two problems. The first was the tape that wasn’t working, so I ordered a replacement belt. The second was the CD that wouldn’t play. I tried it in test mode and everything worked, but after exiting test mode, the CD wouldn’t play when I pressed play. I checked the capacitors and they seemed to be fine, so I tried increasing the laser power to see if it would start, and indeed, it does now. The only problem is that I’m afraid I’ve overdone the power and would like to perform a more accurate calibration with the oscilloscope, but I have no idea where the probes are connected. Can anyone help me? I’ve read that if the power is too high, the laser won’t last long (especially mine, which is quite old).
