Beomaster 4500 Faulty Balance

I have an aging 4500 system which until recently was working. like a dream. However, now the balance is stuck at 20 to the right channel (0 to the left) and 4 on the bass. The touch panel does not respond to these issues, nor does the remote. Everything else is fine. Any ideas?

First thing would be to replace the backup battery and reset the settings.
