Recently I have added a pair of Celestials in the living room where the Theatre sits, replacing a pair of B&W installed previously that were there when the building was constructed.

The Celestials have cables running to an AV rack in a separate room, 4 meters directly away from the Theatre but separated by two double plastered wall and 3cm of MDF wood (wall panelling).

Unfortunately my home is wired with CAT5E cables and there was a lot of interference when I tried to connect the Celestials wired to the Theatre. Re-wiring all the in-wall cables is no-go.

My question – does anyone has any experience trying to get the Receiver 1 to link to Theatre in another room and whether that works well? In my case it’s roughly 4 meters away but separated by 6cm total of plaster wall and 3cm of MDF wood. My B&O dealer stated the Receiver 1 will work 12 meters apart (max) but obviously that’s without any obstacles.

Ask you dealer to loan you a RC1 and make a test.
I installed a pair of BL3 connected on RC1 in the back of the room as surround speakers, RC1 hidden in a massive wood furniture, working perfectly without any bug at 6m from the Theatre

Thanks, think there is a bit more obstacle in my case but this is promising.
Apparently none of the B&O-owned London stores have them in stock, have it ordered in but it is going to be a 5 week wait… fingers crossed!

I have a pair of Beolab 17 in a room next to the Theater. It works for me with 8-10m distance and a wall between although with door openinga. Then a few listening positions to play alone and together with the TV room speakers.
