BRONZE MemberHi everybody,
I’ve recently put my hands (on my place of work) on a Beovision Avant VCR type 81/00 (one of the two in the image below I’m not sure which so I took a picture of the back label)
The project is to create a working Arcade cabinet with this TV with everything I have on hands (old laptops, wood and tools). When I found this TV i tried to turn it on, I had snow on the screen (is there a better word ?) so I assumed it worked.
I decided to unplug the motherboard and clean everything. In this process I desoldered the high tension transformer (Flyback) and unfortunately ripped a pad. I’ve managed to make a pretty good repair with copper wire and solder mask before plugging and resoldering the flyback. And now when I turn on the TV, I have a red light, I use the remote to tell the tv “go to channel 1 please”,I hear the caracteristic magnetic clicking inside the tube, the stand moves like it’s supposed to and then i have a quick flash/line on the screen for less than a second, and then it’s the black screen, the TV is still under tension because I still have the red light.
Does someone has ever encountered such problem ? Do you think I fried or killed the flyback ? Is there a simple way to test it ?
Thank you in advance for your response,
Kind regards from France,
Etienne
