I don’t know if anyone else is experiencing this, but I came back from a trip to the US just before Christmas and my Beosound Stage and LG G2 have been playing up ever since.  I suspect there was a bad software update that got installed when I was gone and that’s the cause.

Sometimes I go to use my Beoremote One to turn the TV on only for nothing to happen.  Other times I’m watching TV and a popup will appear saying that my B&O product has disconnected, the sound then usually drops out shortly after, and the TV turns itself off.  That’s pretty bad when it’s just me.  It’s embarrassing when I have company.

At a certain point we need to stop apologising for B&O and recognise that their quality control is truly awful, and that as long as we keep putting up with this crap, and paying the ridiculous sticker prices for what are effectively products that are in a perpetual beta state, nothing will change.

First try replacing the HDMI cable that might fix everything.  I don’t see any widespread reports of Stage owners experiencing this so I wouldn’t be so quick to say B&O is garbage.

I think this is more than simply a bad cable, which makes no sense anyway considering that it was working fine before.  The first sign of trouble is usually the remote which stops working.  This suggests that it’s the ethernet connection between the TV and Stage which isn’t working correctly.  I think that’s what the message that appears on the TV is referring to.

With regards to there not being more reports about this, I would guess that only a small percentage of Stage owners are using it with a Beoremote One and a compatible TV.  B&O is also known to stagger the rollout of software updates to reduce the blast radius when their QA drops the ball, which seems to happen several of times a year.

I really wish they would leave things alone when they’re working and test their bloody software properly.

My stage is still working fine. LG did a big update though on their TV’s so I am not sure if that is why you are having issues. My LG did a big update with a lot of changes but I can’t remember offhand what model TV I have…however I am having no problems. My Stage also has the latest update loaded.

I know the ethernet cable provided with the Theatre is garbage, but I don’t know with the Stage.

Swap out your cables first, after that you can complain about B&O’s Stage firmware.

your Beoremote’s commands travel through those cables to the tv.

that your cables where fine before is zero guarantee, they can just give up after a while.

As far as I know the Stage is rock solid.

                Hi,

I had the exact same issue with my Eclipse MKI (which is basically the same product) : once the EEPROM board (a daughterboard connected to the Eclipse Motherboard) has been replaced, no issue anymore.

The replacement including labour was about 60o€ (for an Eclipse, I hope it’s less on a Stage)

Think or guess?   Either way it’s a really quick and easy thing to test and Im sure B&O would suggest the same right away.

Agree on the cable test (Ethernet and HDMI), can’t hurt to try.

Especially since there wasn’t a software update during that period. Last one was September ‘24 and 13th of January ‘25 again (https://update.bang-olufsen.com/products/4450c91b7d3a44a5afd18c4640af2ec6 )

I also get this message (your Bang & Olufsen Product has been disconnected…) several times a day on my Beosound Theatre connected to a LG G3 OLED TV. Very annoying because the Beoremote One gets disconnected from the LG. The B&O app on the TV tries to reconnect the Theatre every 30 Seconds without success. Pulling the mains plug for 10 seconds solves the situation however, only for a short time. I opended tickets with B&O and LG but no solution was given yet. No I called the local B&O dealer for assistance because my setup is still brand new, installed last May. I suggest a HW bug in the LG OLED G3 or the LAN cable from Theatre to LG TV is not well shielded. I use the latest beta firmware in the Theatre and the latest LG SW update.

Replace the LAN cable. I have the same setup with zero issues with any firmware in the Theatre or the LG.
