      Hello,

some days ago I dug up my old Avant from the attic.
Personally, I still think it’s one of the greatest designs of that time, especially in terms of CRT designs.
Now, more than 20 years have gone by since I bought this thing, and after 10 years of not using it I pluggednit in.
      Hurrah, the TV works perfectly.
But while the TV works, just for curiosity, I put in a VHS inside.
Well, it did kinda float in, I pressed it slowly inside.
Normally, it would begin by making a noise or something whilst a light should blink.
      Problem was, nothing happened.
The VHS was inside, the tape was locked in but no light or noise.
Just for the sake of it, I pressed “V-TAPE” on my Beo4, but still nothing other than a black screen.
Now, problem was I could not get the VHS out. I then went in with needles, cards and scissors to get it out but nothing.

I tried everything, pressing eject on upper buttons of the Avant did nothing.
I then opened it up from the back, removed everything and the VCR and then got it out manually. It seems to me that it does not have any power, as there are two cables on the VCR which should usually be plugged in, but only one plug was in whilst I did not see any other cable.

Does anyone have a idea what can be wrong and if I can get a replacement VCR for it? I would like to keep it, as it’s design is pinacle 90s modern.
      Thank you,

      Jonel
