      Hi all

I have got a Beogram 4002 type 5501. It was working until suddenly tone arm stop lowering down. Here is a summary of my investigations:

1- I have previously replaced the main supply caps and they’ve been fine.

2- There is no stiction or mechanical issues.

3- Before pressing the start, there is 41V on both sides of selenoid. if I short one side to the ground, it drops perfectly well.

4- Once I press start, the voltage drops to 37V. The voltage on the main power caps also drops to 37V. When tone arm stops on the right position where it should go down, I short the selenoid but there is not enough current or voltage to operate the selenoid.

5- when operate normally without me shorting any pins, the tone arm stops on the right position and it does not go down, but also there is no sign of anything happening like no change in the voltage or any slight movement in the selenoid.

6-  the 4 organge caps on the main board are original.

Any thoughts? could the electrolyte caps on the main board be shorted and drawing current hence the issue?

      Regards

      Ardalan
