I have a beocenter 7007 and this year it has developed a power issue. When I go to turn the turntable on the arm moves, the stylus connects to the record and then the whole thing shuts down into stand-by mode. Sometimes this happens after one secind, sometimes after ten.
I say intermittent as if I leave the unit unplugged for a while I can switch it back on and the system will play fine for a week or so, before the problem reappears.
I’ve tried engaging the system without the speakers attached but the problem remains.
I sent it to a B&O technician who told me he could see no problem with the electrics, (they had it for six weeks – I can’t see how they came to this conclusion) If i’m honest I don’t think they looked at it and I basically paid £90 to have it shrinkwrapped.
If anyone can give me an idea what the issue might be, and how it might get resolved. (I am decidely non-technical, when I solder I tend to kill.) I love this system, I’ve had the sylus retipped twicem in my time with it and when it works it works beautifully. I’d be very sad to replace it with something newer and less tempermental.
