My Beocenter 2200 tonearm will not lift and raise properly.
I have soaked the mechanism from the tonearm suspension down to the floating chassis with IPA and dried it off. Then tried to setup as described in the service manual (pages attached).
With the camwheel 2132 in the stop position, adjusted eccentric D.
With camwheel 2132 in the play position, the gap at point F is a bit bigger (maybe 2mm) than specified but I am reluctant to bend the arm H because it is as set at the factory as far as I know.
At that stage, moving the platter holder by hand and setting 2132 to the play position causes the lever E to move up but doesn’t seem to lower the stylus, although the tonearm is released and floating. When the stop position is set, the lever E is lowered and the tonearm is no longer floating, but the arm is not raised.
Then the pickup height adjustment – Turn eccentric K anti-clockwise till it stops. That’s fine.
If the arm is now taken to the point M, the distance between stylus and platter is 5mm.
But there is no instruction to reset eccentric K .
Maybe there is some part of the mechanism damaged, there seems to be a lot of small plastic parts that move about below the tonearm pivot.
This turntable mechanism is used in several Beograms and the service notes are the same (the parts designation differs, but the setup instructions are the same.)
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
