I recently aquired a MCP 6500 with broken glass and the aluminium flap missing, but other than that in fine condition.

I have tried to test if it works, and the only 2 way compatible B&O I have is MCL2 components. So I have tried it with a MCL2AV both with local sources connected, and connected to a BC9300 via MCL.

Everything seems to work, and I get the track numbers when playing a CD, so two way is also working.

However the display on the MCP 6500 seems to turn of within 10 seconds of use. Is this normal behaviour?

If so can the time for display blanking be adjusted?

I understand the reasoning for blanking the display after some time to save battery, but the 2 way feature is less impressive then.

That’s normal behavior for the MCP series (5000/5500/6500) and the blanking time can’t be adjusted.

Thanks. Good to know that it works as it should do 😀
