Hi all,
My setup (which I’ve largely inherited from grandparents) includes a Beomaster5000 and MCP, an Onkyo power amp, and a set of ADS L1290/2 towers. Up to now I’ve used the Beomaster as a preamp into the Onkyo with RCAs (partly because I could not find B&O speaker connectors that worked with my ADS and already had the Onkyo) and have been happy with it.
Recently I got a pair of BeoVox S45-2s for free at an estate sale. They are in good condition and sound decent, though I plan on recapping them at some point. The included wires have the proprietary B&O 2 pin connectors, but the owners stripped the male ends to connect them to some older Onkyo equipment.
My question is whether there’s some way I can use both sets of speakers with the Beomaster without running them at the same time? I’ve used the ADS for both music listening (running a media server into a Topping DAC into the Beomaster) and movies (running a 4K player into the same DAC into the Beomaster), but my thought now is if I could have one set of speakers for movies (probably the ADS towers?) and one for music somehow? Or at least a way to use them one at a time, regardless of which one I want to go with.
Any advice appreciated, I’m really just cobbling together mostly inherited equipment here. 😂
Best,
Hartson
