I have just installed the Lite version of the app to try this out and to my surprise playback of a local file on the iphone worked! The BS5 showed the cover art and track details. I haven’t tried Tidal as it wouldn’t let me log in. My BS5 is connected via ethernet. Does it work playing a music file from your iphone? How about selecting a song from the BeoMaster5 in the Browser tab – Local Server section? This also works for me.
19 June 2024 at 11:48 #56586I was able to login to Tidal in the end, and same as you – it doesn’t work. The title flashes on the BS5. Im guessing it can’t connect. It could be tidal are using https – in which case it wouldn’t be able to connect to it with the underlying operating system on the Beomaster5 being so old. The same happens when selecting my beoplay M5 as the Play to destination. However, selecting my Wiim streamer as the destination works.
It might be better to get a behringer UCS202 USB soundcard for the beomaster 5 box and plug a Wiim Mini streamer into it. This will then give you airplay2 and other streaming services including Spotify & Tidal connect (using the tidal app) to the A.AUX input.
