BC 9500 Cassette Mechanism – Belt Change

Hello:

I have a BC 9500 with the single motor mechanism version.

Is there anything to watch out for when replacing the main belt around the capstan fly wheel?

Do the gears need to be aligned in a certain way?

After changing the belt the mechanism is not working properly.

1. Mechanism only rewinds in one direction.
2. Sometimes plays, but spindle doesn’t rotate properly.
3. Cannot go from rewind to play, and vice versa.
4. Turn control doesn’t work. You hear clicking sound but nothing happens.

I’ve changed the belts on my BC2500 which has the same mechanism and have not experienced this before.
