Hi all,
I’m new to this forum and have a technical question, I hope someone can answer. I have bought a Beocenter 8000, the black one. By standard it is not fitted with the Powerlink output, so by default it is not possible to connect active speakers. But I really want my Beocenter to be the black version and thus I thought it should be possible to take the module with the connections from i.e. a Beocenter 8500, 9300 or 9500 and fit it onto the Beocenter 8000?
What is your opinion on this? Is it doable? If yes how difficult is it? And if not – any suggestions how I get my Beocenter in black to play with active speakers?

4 December 2023 at 18:16 #50959I would want to connect a set of active B&O speakers i.e Beolab 6000 or 8000.
5 December 2023 at 18:26 #50960You can use the Line input into the Beolabs as I described above as they will turn on when they sense an audio signal.
6 December 2023 at 09:12 #50961Hi ncmunk,
Yes, this is possible! Although your Beocenter receiver doesn’t have Powerlink sockets fitted, you can still connect the speakers by one of the two methods below:-
1) Connect two speakers to the headphone socket of the receiver with this cable (an adapter is available on request for receivers with the larger 6.35mm headphone socket): https://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/77-241-minijack-to-beolab-line-in-using-phono-rca-sockets-one-cable-for-two-speakers.html#/2-length-1m
2) Connect two speakers to the speaker terminals on the back of the receiver using this special Attenuated Converter: https://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/33-power-amplifier-to-beolab-line-in-attenuated-convertor-kit.html and then use this cable to connect the speakers to the output sockets of the Converter: https://soundsheavenly.com/line-in-connection/6-30-av-processor-pre-amp-sonos-to-beolab-rca-line-in-one-cable-for-two-speakers.html#/2-length-1m and you also need one set of these plugs: https://soundsheavenly.com/beovox-passive-unpowered-loudspeakers/74-2-pin-din-plugs-sold-as-a-pair.html
Option 1 is cheaper, but the cable will be visible at the front of the receiver and this will disable any other speakers connected to the receiver. Option 2 allows the cables to be hidden and the Beolab speakers can be used along with your other speakers if required.
Hope this helps!
Kind regards, Steve.

This was exactly the kind of answer I was hoping to get. This will make me able to get further.
Kind regards
