Hello,
I have the opportunity to buy a 2017 Beovision Avant 55 with motorized table stand for around 2000€. It could replace a 2010 Beovision 10-40 with motorized floor stand.
I don’t know if the panel or the board have been changed.
Do you think it’s a good idea ?9 July 2023 at 08:42 #47550I think the price is high, they are readily available for less than half of that, and you can buy them with a new video engine (the most common part to fail ) for circa £1500
10 July 2023 at 08:34 #47551Thank you James, I think your right, price is too high.
A good combo could be a Stage with a new LG G3 but the price is still high (4500€ in France without the floor stand).10 July 2023 at 13:50 #47552it seems the replacement boards dont last, and gthat was my experience, Love the Avant but i would not buy at any price now
10 July 2023 at 14:51 #47553Usually the Avant from 2017 would be a MK2 also called the NG.
And sure….the MK1 often has problems with the DVE/mainboard, but as far as I know the issues with the MK2 are more related to the panel.Buying an Avant MK2 one should know, that it is based on an older Android platform – using SmartTV functions there is best done with an external box like the AppleTV.
The prices for the MK2 are higher than for the MK1 – a newer device.
As for actual prices in your area, I have no idea.MM
11 July 2023 at 05:40 #47554Thanks to all,
it’s really a shame that there are problems because it was a real B&O TV with all the specs we expect from Bang & Olufsen, especially with the motorized stands.
I must admit that the new Beovisions are really fantastic but, as a B&O fan, something is missing (the simple B&O UI, the curtains…?)
Note: my BV 10 has been running smoothly since day one. -
