    Hi folks,

I got Beolab 8000/7.2/6000 speakers a few months back to use in a 5.1 home cinema set-up. Generally Iโ€™ve very pleased with them, but I have any annoying niggle with the 6000s which I was hoping for some or your expert advice on.

The 8000s and 6000s are used in auto on/standby โ€˜signal sensingโ€™ mode and whilst the 8000s work fine like this, the 6000s, which Iโ€™m using as rears, seem to have a much shorter interval before they switch in to standby. This means that on any soundtrack which has intermittent activity in the rear channels they are constantly switching in and out of standby with an audible click. On some content theyโ€™re just repeatedly clicking away which is simply annoying.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this? I know itโ€™s a long shot but Iโ€™ll ask anyway: is there any way to adjust the interval before they switch to standby when no signal is received? I canโ€™t run them via powerlink cables because theyโ€™re used with non B&O electronics and with the signal via installed RCA cables.

The 8000s seem to have a longer standby interval than the 6000s. The best I can come up with is to ditch the 6000s and get a pair of 8000s for the rear, but that seems like overkill and I canโ€™t afford it at the moment.

    Thanks for any advice!

Hello, or it could be that the volume of the rear channels is too low?

Hi – thank you for replying.

I donโ€™t think itโ€™s that, and I have raised the rear levels slightly theyโ€™re not too quiet when theyโ€™re there. I think the issue is a combination of the facts that 1) the rear channels inherently donโ€™t have information being sent to them continuously on some content and 2) the 6000s have a relatively short interval before going in to standby – too short in my opinion.

Iโ€™m sure itโ€™s a futile hope that this interval could somehow be adjusted.
