Hi All,
I’m looking around for a replacement/reserve stylus for my newly bought Beogram 1000.
Sometimes I come across styli from Tonar, are they any good?
And besides the SP6/7, can I use the the SP8/9 as well?
In any case I’d prefer a elliptical diamond.

14 January 2024 at 23:26 #46535Ok, thanks.
Another question; are the SP 6/7-8/9-10-12-14 interchangable between various SP based Belograms?
I have a SP6/7 retipped by FJS recently with a Nude contact line elliptical stylus, and I was wondering if this can be used on any other later SP based Beograms?
TIA!

The stylii themselves are Generally, yes.
Nude contact line elliptical stylus, and I was wondering if this can be used on any other later SP based Beograms.
Short answer – generally yes.
But a Contact Line is NOT an Elliptical.
You have EITHER a Contact Line, OR an Elliptical.

My mistake.
I was wondering if I would buy a later SP based Beogram, I could use my newly retipped element on another Beogram like the 3000 or 1800 just for example.
Because the retipping was more expensive as the Beogram 1000 is ever worth…

Yes, absolutely – I have done exactly that for other customers.
The early SP6/7 etc stylii fit just fine on a SP12/14 series cartridge, but with a small space, which I fill with a small rubber grommet. It looks just fine.
22 January 2024 at 11:33 #46539Here’s a comparison of the SP10/12/14 (top) and SP6/7/8 etc (middle).
The rubber grommet ensures an aesthetic fit on a BG120x/3000 etc tonearm.
22 January 2024 at 11:36 #46540But I can swap it along with the cartridge by plugging it onto the newer tonarm I asume?
22 January 2024 at 11:44 #46541I recently bought a SP10 like on the top of your picture with a broken needle, just to have a spare cartridge for €25.
I’m keeping the needle/element for future retipping
