Eclipse burned marks in panel corners?

Hi guys, my Eclipse mk1 panel got some burned marks in the upper left and right corner caused by these channel logo’ s. Refeshing the panel will not solve it. (Thought burn marks would not be possible with OLED panels?)

Is there another solution to make these marks disappear or is it just wear out due to the age of the panel (2017)? Does anybody knows what the avg life cycle of a oled panel is?

Problem with a lot of the early LG C-panel Oleds. LG would not even guarantee against it apparently and with B&O overloading some of the functions and settings, it’s almost inevitable.

There are a few YouTube videos with image retention aids (leave go overnight) which seems to help. However, burn in is burn in (and not image retention.

This is not directly a B&O. Sure, their TV with their name on it but a notorious LG C7, C9 and CX problem. LG did not have warranty on any panel against burn-in.

Having my Theatre installed yesterday, the Installer told me they have done plenty of panel exchanges and one of the reason’s the Gen1 are completely done for in terms of spares.

One of the things I am somewhat relieved about is getting away from the tied panel thing. With the Theatre and the G2, (which does not suffer from burn in apparently), is the panel becomes almost a disposable after 5 years use. I’m sure that’s the intent, we will see if that pans out

Will it be worthwhile to trade in my Eclipse MK1 after 5yrs for a Contour. Assuming the Contour screen is the latest LG screen with no risk of burn-in after time?

Does somebody know which type LG screen is in the Contour?

I saw a price quote from New York USA, elsewhere may vary: The Contour frame is 55-inch “2nd Gen” black anthracite, model 1860950.  The 55″ screen listed LG’s model number OLED55C2PUA.  My dealer (not the one who issued the quote) claimed that B&O revised the frame to match the new LG screen.  If you ask for a price quote, likewise they should list your country’s LG model number, since they are acting as an LG dealer, selling un-modified stock TVs, not some B&O special part/order.  (The dealer actually assembles the pieces: a Contour frame, a Stage/for-Contour, a cloth or wood cover, and the LG TV.)

It is difficult to ascertain your requirements, tastes, budget and location.

In the UK, the cheapest Contour package I can see for 55in, is around £7k for a table top version and melange cover. A commensurate BS Theatre would be around £8.5 (difficult because of subtracting the 65in difference).

So, for £1.5 to £2k, you can breakaway from screen quality dependence on your whole product. You als get a superior product I would think and one which is upgradable in terms of ecosystem etc…

The display of my Eclipse has become a special waste with image sticking and cloud formation in the border area. This is very annoying, especially with red mixed colors.

The display is still available, but for the price I get a panel of the latest generation with currently 5 years warranty (LG).

Is it technically feasible to connect an LG TV via HDMI to the Soundcenter, so that the functions auto on and off, as well as the volume control via the TV remote control are given?

The gap between the center and the TV can be hidden well, that is the least evil.

Is it possible to configure the setup menu of the sound center via an IP address or with the B&O app if necessary?
This is now possible for example, with the I-Pad I get access to the setup menu with the IP address: 192.168.178.35

I would like to continue using the Soundcenter with a new panel if possible, an outdated one from B&O at an overpriced price is out of the question.
Also a new SetUp from B&O with LG panel, never again!

There will always be a risk for burn in, also on a LCD screen. The OLED are getting much better than they were, but there is still a risk, if you watch a lot of materiel with Logo.

I would recommend getting a Beosound Theater instead. It can be paired with all screens on the market, so if/when the tv breaks you can change it out for a new, but still keep the B&O part.

I would off cause recommend getting a LG OLED again, as you get the best connection that way.
