      Hi

I wanted to ask if anyone knows, is it possible to repair the cord on a 4400 potentiometer, as the one on mine has broken, or do I have to replace the whole unit, if I can find one.

Also, I’m in the South east of England and wanted to know who are the best repair service, as my local “vintage equipment restorers” don’t want to touch any B&O equipment, only anything British or Japanese.

Any help would be much appreciated.

It was a long time ago that I looked, but from memory, that looks like the part.

I thought I’d be able to just fix the cord, but I imagine it’s not that simple.

          Many thanks for the reply

You can replace the cord if you are handy.

As I said, it’s been a long time since I looked at the thing inside the 4400 but it looks fairly straight forward thing to fix it ; I do remember finding a “how to” of replacing the cord because it obviously has to be done so that the settings correspond with the radio station settings.

I’ll have to see if I can find it again and give it a go.

If I do I’ll have to try and post it on here how it went.

Anyway, many thanks for your input, it’s much appreciated.
