Did you notice this one during the black-out?

I did notice it. Quite interesting that it is only for the North American market. I still prefer the classic look of the Beogram 4000 with the aluminium top plates though to be honest. If you download the media kit there is an image of the technology stored inside the sideboard. It looks like there is a beosound essence in there. Does anyone have further information?

Where can we download the media kit?

On the right side there is a Core, so there is no need to have an (outdated) Essence on the left. I think it’s a Beolink transmitter so that you can stream the music from the Beogram and the Core wirelessly to the Beolabs !

Overall I’m not impressed by this setup but I think it’s nice that the beautiful box can be turned into a cabinet. For the Beogram 4000c you had a similar box that becomes useless once the Beogram is out of it.

I don’t have further information but my guess is that the setup shown in the picture is including a Beosound Core for 2022 streaming purposes and a Beolab Transmitter 1, not an Essence, in order to add WiSA capabilities.

My understanding is this is somewhat of a consolation prize to North Americans who signed up to purchase the expensive 4000c reboot. B&O canceled all 4000c orders (except one) for the USA. Instead, we can spend more on the 72-22.

Did the B&O logo on the sensor arm disappear ?

                    I’ll reply myself:

In the packshot pictures from the media kit (go to “press release” at the bottom of the main site  and browse dates until it appears…) the logo is still there.

But it can’t be seen illuminated in the promo film (which, by the way, can’t be compared with the previous one “Memories” which stands to me as the pinnacle of the B&O promo films.

Another thing that questions me: Why Beolab 18?
I love Beolab 18, and I’m so sad their second hand price don’t drop as fast as I want.
But why 18’s when you know the brutal EOL habits of the brand, the age of those speakers and their, after all, average rendition.

                    Why not 20’s, or 50’s.

(Note that the press kit include pictures of 50’s as packshot, but not in “lifestyles” shot that for me at least would me the main (marketing) trigger.)

@Matador : the setup is available in the press release pictures : the full set with Sanded titanium finish Beolab 50 is there!

                        Yes, I saw that.

But not in the movie or the web pages.
I reckon the 18’s are more photogenic than any other speaker but they’re also the oldest.

I totally forgot that the Beosound core does not have wisa build in for some strange reason….
