Joaquin Cancer Fuster
BRONZE MemberHello,
I am looking for advice before buying a replacement laser pickup for my BeoSound 9000 MK2, Type 2561.
The original mechanism is a Philips VAM1250. The original pickup has “F8 <> 2” printed on the ribbon cable and metal shielding over the PCB.
I am considering the EP-118 sold by Danish Sound Parts for CD-PRO2 / VAU1254 / VAU1255:
CD-PRO2 VAU1254 VAU1255 Laser module Beocenter 2300 2500 Beosound 2500 3000 4000 Ouverture a.o.
The supplier has told me that EP-118 has not been tested in VAM1250, so they cannot guarantee an exact fit, although the ribbon marking and shielding suggest it could be correct.
Has anyone successfully fitted this exact EP-118 pickup to a VAM1250 in a BeoSound 9000 MK2? Is it a direct replacement, or are any modifications or adjustments needed?
If it is unsuitable, could you recommend an identical or confirmed compatible pickup and a reliable supplier? I can provide photographs of the original pickup and its markings.
Thank you for your help.
