BRONZE MemberI got hold of an Avant 32-inch DVD.
It has three SCART inputs… Decoder/AV/V.TAPE.
I’ve managed to get a Firestick working through the close up camcorder connections via an HDMI to S-video converter, so still have all three SCART connections free.
I hooked up a PS2 via RGB SCART to the AV SCART (the middle one) and selecting LIST then V.AUX on the BEO4 remote it switched immediately to RGB and I had an image.
All good so far…
I’m getting a Laserdisc player.
I want to connect it via S-video through SCART. The only SCART that does S-video is the one I was using for PS2 RGB.
So I plugged the PS2 into the V.TAPE SCART, set it to PC and programmed the remote to show the PC button in the list. Press LIST until PC shows, then hit GO and voila, PS2 RGB with sound.
So now I have the AV SCART free for the Laserdisc player.
I notice that the options for the AV SCART connections are:
DECODER
S-VHS V. TP2
DVD2
Non B&O V. TP2
V. AUX
STB (V.AUX)
STB (DTV)
So, I’m assuming I need the AV SCART set to S-VHS V. TP2 to take an S-video, L/R audio to SCART lead?
But, as it is with nothing connected, I can choose that option but have no ideas how to choose it? If I set AV SCART connection to V. AUX, I can select V. AUX with it’s dedicated button on the BEO4. It will switch to V. AUX but obviously it’s just a blank screen with nothing connected until I have my Laserdisc player connected.
However, when I have AV SCART connection set to S-VHS V. TP2, and select V. AUX on the remote, nothing happens. The TV doesn’t switch.
The only selection in the AV SCART connections list that allows the V. AUX button to switch to that input is V. AUX.
Is this because nothing is connected to the V. AUX SCART?
When my Laserdisc player is connected, how will I select S-VHS V. TP2? There isn’t a button for it? Will the AV SCART input automatically select that input?
I noticed too that when switching to V. AUX, there is an extra menu item that appears (4 V. AUX) but choosing it does nothing?
Again, will there be options under this when something is connected?
This whole B&O menu system is very convoluted…
