Beomaster 1900 repair

Hi everyone,

This is my first post on this forum. I am working on a beomaster 1900 (type 2903)  that I got for free in a lot of broken BnO equipment.

I am familiar with repairing things, however electronics is not something I am very confident with. I would like to use this beomaster to pick up some new skills. I have previously done simple electronic wiring on motorbikes and cars, and have done some soldering on circuit boards. However my knowledge does not go much further than using a simple multimeter and soldering/desoldering some basic things. I have read some forum posts and looked at some YouTube videos about repairing this amplifier so I have some limited background knowledge.

Optically the beomaster is in pretty decent condition. The plastic cards on the bass, treble and balance sliders are in excellent condition and not burned at all, so it seems like it has seen little use. The issue is that it remains in standby mode. The standby light comes on when powered, but when a channel is selected a relay fires (I can hear it) and it returns to standby mode. The lights for the channels do not come on. Also, I just broke off the plastic switch pin on the power switch, so I am looking for a replacement for that switch.

I have opened up the beomaster and have not found any obvious (to me) optical faults. See attached pictures. One of the lights appears to be blown but otherwise I am not sure where to go from here. I am hoping someone on this forum could help me restore this beomaster to it’s previous glory. I am thinking about doing a recap. This is a learning project for me, and since I got the device for free, this seems like it would be a fun exercise.

From the information I found online I would also like to take a look at the bass, treble and balance sliders but I don’t know if there’s anything wrong with them since I can’t test them.

Conclusion: where do I go from here? What do I test to see what is going wrong?
