Beogram 1900 in very bad condition – Need help for repair

Hi.

I have been given a Beogram 1900 in pretty bad conditions : motor not spinning, no belt, no cartridge, no cover, no hinges, wooden veneer tearing down 😥 I am not even sure the rest is complete.

I have dissassembled everything I could, down to the motor core and bushing. I cleaned all the dry oil, put some fresh one and the motor is now spinning ! I have make a custom belt by soldering end to end a piece of TPU I  usually use for 3D printing, just for testing. The mechanical upcycling is far from done yet, and I know I have plenty of adjustement to make.

For instance, the copper plate seems to slide a little bit down its shaft and to get closer and closer to the magnets used to slow it down. Eventhough I took picture along the dissassembly process, I cannot recall if the shaft was “naked” for a few millimeters between the copper ball and the copper plate. I put some heat shrinking tubing to prevent the slide and it seems to work but I am not sure it is the best solution. I fear it will add some friction and slow the motor down.

Another problem is that the small wheel that drives the main wheel (the one with rubber at its edge, getting moved by the copper plate and getting the main plate into rotation thnaks to the belt) seems a little of its axis and rubs against the copper one. I add a very tiny bush below and it seems to work, but again, is it a adequat solution.

And last thing I will ask (if I manage to fix it, I will probably come for more 😅) : I can only make the 45 work. And it is not even spinning at the right speed. The 33 is not working ; it only spins if I maintain the button down. Any hint ?
